Burgundy Bandit First Startup 2023
This is my first startup of The Burgundy Bandit since I bought it over 3 years ago. The engine is a 381 inch Small Block Chevy, Comp Cams roller, 6-71 blower and Enderle Bug Catcher mechanical injection.
The exceptional build of the original car is credited to Tommy Thompson (Jr's kid) and Charlie O'Neal (Fighting Irish funny car fame). Special thanks to both of them as well as "Speed Bob" Nevins for all of the help and history on the car.

Here is my latest blown small block Chevy. It started life as a 2-bolt main block. It has since had splayed 4-bolt main caps added. The GM forged crank is cut .010"/.010". The rotating assembly is finished off with ceramic coated blower pistons and 6 inch I-beam rods. The camshaft is a Sig Erson solid roller. Roller lifters and roller rockers are Comp Cams. Heads are GM Bowtie aluminum that has...

Fastest street car in the country 1988. Built by Ron Fry and his daughter Mendy. Best pass 7.64 seconds with blown, injected big block Chevy. Ran best of 8.24/156 mph with Crower 8-stack injection. Lots of documentation including magazines and videos of competitions. Today it is Street only. The cage has been removed. O.b.o. Or trade. Always negotiable. Own a piece of history! Completed December 2015 this is a 355 Chevy. The bottom end was built to handle up to 850HP. It has a Scat forged crank and rods, forged Speed Pro blower pistons, Dart aluminum heads, Comp Cams .575 lift solid roller lifter cam and Harland-Sharp roller rockers. Blower is a 3-lobe Weiand 6-71 with boost referenced 600 Holley carbs. I expect 600 HP on pump gas. I had several problems with the car...

This is a blown 357 cubic inch small block Chevy engine. I have built several engines over the years, but, this is my first blower motor. It is a .040 over bore, 1987 block with World Products cast iron heads, flat top pistons, 9 to 1 compression. The blower is a large displacement 6-71. On top are two 1850-3 Holley carbs. They have been specially modified to work on top of a blower. It has a K...
Hammarlund SP-600 Super Pro Receiver demonstration

This Receiver is a Hammarlund SP-600-JX-26 Super Pro. It was manufactured specifically for military use. This particular one is designated as Signal Corps Radio Receiver R-274C/FRR U.S. Army. Being a military radio, it was of exceptional quallity when built. As you can see and hear, it still operates well.
Hammerlund HX-500 Transmitter with HQ-170AC/VHF Receiver
Переглядів 3,3 тис.12 років тому
Very rare Hammerlund HX-500 transmitter. Less than 600 built in 1962. This one is serial number 525. It covers 80-10 meters and operates in CW-LSB-USB-DSB-FSK and FM. This was a very expensive transmitter in it's day. As you see, it works perfectly. There is some wear on the trim plate around the tuning dial and meter but the rest of the radio looks great. Could use a little cleaning inside. Th...

This is a very nice SX-99. Very clean inside. Case sustained some scratches during estate sale. Still one of the nicest SX-99's I have seen. Works perfectly on all bands.

The engine sounds great, but I don't like when it runs at idle when it first started. It keeps accelerating and decelerating repeatedly over and over again. My guess that the engine is running LEAN. Probably need to adjust both carburetors for a better idle.

How many butterflies can you stack on a carbureted motor? Take that ridiculous scoop off that nice engine. Just because they sell it don't make it right.

The last one I built was sold for $16,000. I have three blowers on the shelf right now, ready to be converted to car use. Are you in the market for a new blower motor?

Let's take that racing cam out and put a cam with a shorter duration on it and then we will have a good tractor engine, rather than a worthless power banded racing engine.

I built a 383 stroker naturally aspirated in high school. I put in in a 69 shortbed Chevy pickup… that engine was a beast. 533/555 with a 114° lobe center and a victor junior intake and 750 Holly carb. She would broil the tires at 20 mph…. Just punch it!
